Feedback gathered from participants across our three programs. Cohort dates and program references are included for context.
"I'd always avoided thinking too carefully about the interest rate on my personal loan because I didn't understand it. After three weeks with Savvient, I actually worked through the calculation myself and saw what the total repayment looked like. That was genuinely eye-opening. I've since restructured how I approach my monthly payments."
"My husband and I had been going back and forth on whether to buy or keep renting for about two years. Program 02 gave us a structured way to actually compare the numbers rather than just having the same circular conversation. The session where a banker walked us through eligibility calculations was particularly useful — things I'd never thought to ask."
"I work in logistics and had started using several e-wallets and a robo-advisor without really understanding what I was paying in fees or how safe my money was. Program 03 helped me compare them properly. The live walkthrough of the fee structures was particularly clear. I would have liked more time on robo-advisors but overall it was well structured."
"I'm a teacher and I had next to no financial background. Program 01 was recommended by a colleague who'd done it the previous intake. The pace was manageable, the calculations were explained step by step, and I never felt embarrassed asking basic questions. I came away understanding compound interest in a way I can now explain to my own students."
"I was close to signing a property deal when a friend suggested I do this program first. I'm glad I did — there were costs I hadn't fully accounted for that would have affected my decision. The program didn't tell me what to do, but it gave me the framework to decide for myself. That's exactly what I needed."
"I work in healthcare and digital finance wasn't something I'd thought about systematically. I'd just been using whatever app my colleagues recommended. Program 03 helped me understand what I was actually signed up for with two of the platforms I was using. The scam awareness component was also genuinely useful and relevant to what I see patients experience."
Participant Journeys in Detail
How specific participants used Savvient programs to address real financial questions. Names are used with permission; identifying details have been kept general.
From Avoiding Loan Statements to Understanding Them
A civil servant in her early 30s had two personal loans and a credit card balance. She paid them monthly but had never read the full terms or calculated her total repayment amount. The numbers on the statements felt opaque and she avoided examining them closely.
After Program 01, she worked through the actual compound calculation on her loans and identified that one had significantly less favourable terms than the other. She then used the comparison worksheet from the program when considering whether to consolidate.
She consolidated one loan with a clearer understanding of why the new terms represented a better outcome. She described the shift as moving from avoidance to active awareness — not dramatic, but practically useful for every financial decision since.
"I can actually look at a loan offer now and understand what I'm agreeing to. That sounds basic, but it's something I genuinely couldn't do before." — Program 01 participant, Batu Pahat
Evaluating a Property Decision With More Than Gut Feel
A couple in their late 20s were considering purchasing a townhouse in Johor. They'd been pre-approved for a loan and were close to committing. A family member suggested they speak with Savvient first. They enrolled in Program 02.
Working through the full transaction cost calculation, they discovered their estimate of upfront costs was about RM 18,000 short once stamp duty, legal fees, and valuation charges were properly included. The loan term analysis also shifted their thinking on total repayment over 35 years.
They proceeded with the purchase but renegotiated their savings timeline and adjusted their budget allocation for the first year. They described the program as giving them the tools to make a considered decision rather than an anxious one.
"We thought we knew what we were getting into. The program showed us we were missing about RM 18,000 worth of costs. It didn't change our decision but it changed how we prepared." — Program 02 participant couple, Muar
Moving from Passive User to Informed Evaluator of Digital Tools
A small business owner in his mid-40s used three e-wallets, a digital bank account, and had money in a robo-advisor — all chosen based on promotions or colleague recommendations. He had no framework for evaluating them or comparing their actual costs.
Program 03's fee analysis sessions prompted him to calculate the actual annual cost of his robo-advisor platform, which he hadn't done before. He also identified that one of his e-wallets had terms he found unfavourable once he understood them properly.
He consolidated to fewer platforms and applied the evaluation framework from the program when his bank introduced a new digital product two months after the program ended. He described the ongoing usefulness of the framework as the most valuable part.
"I now know what questions to ask before I sign up for anything. That's worth more than any single answer the program gave me." — Program 03 participant, Batu Pahat
